Explore not only the drama, serenity, and scenic beauty of all that is Rannoch and Highland Perthshire - varying from the idyllic to the dramatic - but also discover why The Dunalastair Hotel is fast gaining an outstanding international reputation for both quality and service.

There are no strangers at this hotel, only friends who have never met.

Dining

At Dunalastair,  guests quickly come to appreciate and enjoy the imaginative use of the Scottish larder to provide and present inspired Taste of Scotland cuisine. The most interesting and enjoyable food experience in highland Perthshire. A culinary experience to remember, enhanced and complemented by the soft acoustics and intimate character of the restaurant.
Candlelit romance and well spaced large tables add to the experience.

There is also more informal dining in the bistro with pre/apres dinner drinks and cigars in the conservatory or the malt whisky bar (or if you prefer, in the quietness of the residents' lounge) Expertly judged service is the hallmark of this hotel. An international selection of wines to tempt even the most sophisticated of tastes. And over 60 malt whiskies, carefully selected to represent Scotland's finest.

Great Scottish breakfasts await you every morning to prepare you for the day's itinerary (or lighter continental if you prefer) - like most Scots, the Dunalastair  places great emphasis on the importance of an excellent breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.

Relaxing

Two comfortable lounges, one with large family suites and a grand piano, the other much more intimate, provide guests with both a peaceful daytime retreat in which to enjoy a good book or browse some of the interesting reading material relevant to the area which the hotel provides, and for taking it easy in the evenings after another enjoyable day of relaxation, touring or walking.

You can turn leisurely evenings into memorable nights if you will, rekindling the traditions of yesteryear. Meet up before dinner in the lounge or whisky bar (or in the pub if you prefer a more vibrant highland atmosphere) and chat about the experiences of the day with other guests, or simply relax in the comfort of the expansive surroundings and enjoy an aperitif or two whilst studying and selecting the culinary and delights which await you.

After dinner you might enjoy a special liqueur, speciality coffee, or an after dinner malt or cognac, and listen to the gentle tunes as another guest takes up the piano.

Bedrooms

The crispness and character of bedrooms, and the softness of the individual décor combine with classic furniture to provide a delight to the eye - and speak softly of the care with which the family has preserved the wonderful interior of the hotel.

Bathrooms are spacious, many having original roll top baths, beautiful rustic tiles and are serviced by plenty of hot, peaty water and wonderful high pressure showers, all making for both perfect relaxation Comfort rather than modernity is the theme - clear air, peaceful tranquillity - and a wonderful night's rest.

For extra comforts to discerning guests some of the hotel's rooms feature four posters beds and larger than normal beds, and the Rob Roy Suite has to be the crowing glory of a wonderful array of accommodation served by spacious well heated corridors.

The bedrooms have recently been newly refurbished, again with décor and fabric echoing the colours and texture of this beautiful area, and creating a subtle blend of stately, graceful elegance with homely charm Easily accessible and spacious ground floor bedrooms are available in a very quiet part of the hotel

For guests' extra comfort, all rooms have controllable heating, colour televisions, hair dryers and hospitality trays and most of them boast fine views over the village and surrounding countryside.  Comprehensive hotel and area information ensures that guests are always well advised - and hotel reception is always delighted to help further in any way.
